The Love of His Perfect Sacrifice

My first post was a song inspired in my heart many years ago.  This is hot off the press.  I was praying in the spirit this morning and got a melody in my heart to which I had to write some appropriate words.

His blood, His life, His love were all lavished upon us!  His is the greatest love.

John 15:13

The Love of His Perfect Sacrifice

They scorned the King of Kings then with a thorny crown

The blood of the perfect sacrifice flowed down

But He will come again.  No one can take His crown

Loud hosannas to the King will then resound!

Will then resound — to the Lamb for His perfect sacrifice!

Praise Christ!

The iniquities of man lashed cruelly at His skin

While demon hordes of hell foolishly grinned

Yet those horrid wounds upon Christ’s back brought healing

The blood of the perfect sacrifice did win!

Christ did win — by the love of His perfect sacrifice!

Praise Christ!

With pain in every step, He climbed up Calvary’s hill

The Lamb surrendered to Love’s selfless will

Into His hands and feet, they drove the iron nails

Yet the blood of the perfect sacrifice prevails!

Love prevails — By the love of His perfect sacrifice!

Praise Christ!

“Forgive them, Abba!” Though in anguish, Jesus cried.

Then giving up His Ghost, on the cross He died

A soldier’s lance tore open wide the Savior’s side

The blood of the perfect sacrifice gushed for His bride!

For His bride — Oh, the love of His perfect sacrifice!

Praise Christ!

Good song! Songs usually have verses of death followed by verses of triumph, but yours is out of order having the triumphant verses first and ending with his death. I like that – I think it gives a feel of eternal triumph, how Jesus was triumphant before, during, and after his death.
